Thoughts for another night.

Post by Lestat on Wed Feb 04, 2015 2:33 am

The future hastens, an age beyond my antique reason.
I protect my existence and pray for solace.
I seize my death, enjoy it and live it well,
My solitude surpassed by the joy of the forever dead.
Gloriously decadent, red velvet in cloth and mind,
Blood runs like fire through my cold veins.
A voice like silk yet hides my deadly motives,
Intoxicating roll of my words, smooth as glass.
It`s sharp as a knife edge yet soft, gentle,
Let me lull you with my eyes, these eyes that burn.
My delicious irony which will capture your soul,
Your mind resists but your spirit succumbs.
You bend to my dominance, my will and hunger,
Your graceful neck a vessel of the finest wine.
The nectar I seek, lying beneath the surface,
Of pale skin, a hidden river of red life.
My hands caress the line of forgotten ice that reveals it,
That giver of life, drink of eternity and immortal death.
Sapphire to the eye yet ruby on my lips, crimson delight,
My desire opens my eyes to your life, near passing.
The beat of your thirsty heart slows, eyes weak with fear,
Lay down, my prey, rest for this be your resting place.

She is gone. Her eyes stare at the ghosts of sight,
Silvery bright with romantic notion, no longer.
I let her lay, my eyes grow cold with remembered loneliness,
It passes as it must, her body burning on the pyre.
Her long dark tresses turn to cinders, embers her highlights now,
I watch and wonder, their frailty and short life.
Intriguing, our heritage but not to dwell upon,
I leave, her body dust to me now.

'Oh, to be mortal again...' Thoughts for another night.

Beautiful words, dear Lestat. Always beautiful words. Indeed, I wish that I had your knack for them.

He has had plenty of practice, over the years.

You do have a point, there, Louis. Practiced or not, though, he does have quite the gift.

He does, but I am not going to be the one to enlarge his ego any further.

Haha... Louis, I saw that! Yes, I am good with painting images with words. The problem I have is; I am no good at describing a sound in word form.

Perhaps you can describe the sound of the sea crashing upon rocks, then the sound of it, when it gently caresses a soft sandy beach. Oh, and don`t get me started about the sound of the wind through the trees...

Ah, yes, that infamous ego. I think I see it peering 'round the corner of my back yard, it's reached so far!

And those are, indeed, tough things to describe, Lestat. I can't claim to have the words you seek.

Yes, Erin. You see; I am not a master of everything just yet, but I have time to learn.
