Frustrations Abound!

Frustrations Abound!
As some of you know, and for those who do not, I work from home a few days a week. Friday was supposed to have been one of those days.
However, I spent my time trying to have my computer reconnected to my work server with no luck. A system restore made things worse.
To top it off, my laptop was no longer functioning and I could not even install a new OS disc image to it. My IT guy was such a sport. He tried to get things working again, but to no avail. I will now have to send both desktop and laptop to him to be repaired.
So what does this mean for me?
It means that I had to spend money, that I did not want to just yet, on a new laptop so I could at least be able to do my work on a daily basis. While I wasn't too keen on spending the money so soon, it was an investment I was planning to make anyway. Unfortunately, it isn't exactly the laptop I wanted, but it is a rather good one, even if it is running Windows 8.1 rather than Windows 7, which I would have preferred. Regardless, I now have a very brand new HP Pavilion Laptop Computer With 17.3" HD+ Screen & AMD Quad-Core A8 Processor. This baby is fast, quiet and best of all, I'll be able to take it with me when I travel and still be able to do work. Right, like I really want to work when traveling.
I may end up getting a different laptop later on, but for now, this one does what I need it to do and that is really all that matters. Plus, my IT guy will be able to set everything up for me remotely should I need him to.
So, what does this mean?
It means that I get to reinstall programs in order to do my work. Along with trying to find a good photo editing program to use until I can get Photoshop reinstalled and finish the things I have been trying to work on for our illustrious host's forum. Basically, more frustrations abound, but at least they are of the better quality than not having a working system or two.

Perhaps, mon cher, perhaps. Or I will end up being even more frustrated than I was before. One never can tell. Especially when one considers what I have to do for work when I am home and not at my other job.
