I really don't consider myself to have a knack for poetry, but this is something I wrote about... 5 years ago. I actually still like this one.

A parasite stretches and stirs

Black malignant thoughts

The sunlight brightly burns



Tearful eyes flinch away

From the harsh light

The coming light of day



The act of being healed

Sometimes, hurts even more

Than any lie concealed



A dirty mirror reflects a lie

a battered human form

But, underneath, a soul shy
