Have a safe trip, mon cher ami. Going to Paris in the summer. It sounds like the beginning of an Audrey Hepburn movie. When I went, as a child, it was the middle of winter. I hope you have a good time. Bring me back a present? Wink

Why just so suddenly, with flight booking on the full day at 16 p.m. ?... Isn't it the time when you usually sleep at the dark and remote from solar rays place?... (and as I remember you don't really need planes/trains etc. as you can fly yourself Wink ))

Conservation of energy and convenience, I would imagine. If one could fly/run/etcetera on their own, but had other means to do so and it would be less conspicuous, would not one use said means? Keep in mind, that even with the ability to fly (and other means of locomotion), on a practical level, there is less risk involved with taking modern transportation, for it would be far more accommodating, considering that with airplanes, one does not have to worry about being sucked into an engine if flying. Also, there are sunscreens in airplanes that would help to protect against the sun's rays, if needed.

I also believe that the last time Lestat was caught in the sun unawares (barring other situations that could not be helped), he was only mildly sunburned and that was in the morning. The sun should be setting by the time the flight departed and have set by the time he actually reaches Paris. He has taken many flights before, so he must know what he is doing.

Hmm, convenience in economy class?... (If the seat number is 22 and graduated by system of 6 letters from A to E, it's surely not first- or business-class seat). I used to fly by both of them (mostly economy because usual prices for the first class flights are enormous), and I can compare very well the level of convenience... So it also surprised me why Lestat chooses economy class (which is usually leaves much to be desired) instead of real comfort... Surely he's richer than me, so I can suppose only one reason - he likes to be fully surrounded by people... *as for me in any plane it's pure masochism, so far from real comfort as it could be, especially in presence of small constantly crying children...*  >.< And with all these troubles with modern planes (counting all accidents when they fall down because of entering in turbulent zone, hurricanes etc.) it can be even more dangerous than to fly by himself...
I imagine that he already took a lot of flights (as he has an accommodation and a lot of deals in Paris and makes regular visits there), I thought he usually takes the night flights. 16 p.m. is still full day, especially in summer - at 1st June sunsets are way too late, even in the time of arrival (between Paris and London maximum it's 1 hour or 1h and a half). And to force mentally all passengers to shut down their sun-protection screens -  couldn't it be more psychic energy consuming than fly by himself or take a private plane (for ex.)?... Don't know if he feels comfortable being even slightly burned during the flight like this, but surrounded by a lot of people who can be shocked to see sudden unexpected sunburns on his skin - it seems to be not the best way of conspiracy
But it's only my hypotheses - just tried to find the logic in this booking... Of course Lestat might had his own particular reasons to book daytime flight, I'm just curious why...

I believe his usual response as to why he does anything is: "Because I can!" Smile

Agreed! Very Happy

Well, if Lestat began this thread with flight booking - ok, I can add that me too I've a flight that I booked quite long ago just didn't tell before (simply didn't find particular reason to tell) - so this Saturday I'll fly from Paris to New York!! First time in my life I hope to visit this marvelous and legendary city (and it will be my 2nd travel to the USA after recent visit of New Orleans and Louisiana on the Halloween'2015). Previous visit was a part of touristic travel with a group of tourists from all France, this time I'll go alone to see my friend who lives not too far from NYC. Hope it will be great trip and I'll try to make beautiful photos and visit some Broadway musicals which my friend loves so much Smile

I have travel plans, myself! ^_^ In September, I'll be going with my girlfriend and her parents to Florida, to run amok at Disney and Universal. Smile I also plan on (hopefully!) getting to visit with the lovely Nia!! It needs to happen, girly. Especially since Michael and I recently and miraculously found a certain present I obtained for you, a couple of years ago. :p

Super!!! Glad for you, Erin!  I'd like to visit Florida too, especially Miami (normally, not just short staying in transit zone). And I understand very well how difficult to see friends from other cities when you live in such a big country! When I lived in Russia I could meet my friends from Saint-Petesburg once in 3-4 years, and some of them I saw in reality only once in my life! So it's cute that you and Nia will meet, as we've finally met with my dear Melany in NOLA last year Smile

I had a chance to remain here, so I pounced at the chance and I am holding on with both hands.

It seems you already took it and prospered. Would you still need both hands to hold on to that chance, now?

This is nearly what I had envisioned as a tattoo design for myself.

Though, I was still debating upon whether I was going to have Carpe Diem, Carpe Noctem or Carpe Tempus. The latter which has become Carpe Diem over time.

Oh, how I wish I could have a tattoo. Yes, I tried the notion once before and debated it with 'almost' everyone I know.

So, you have a design to work from. I take it you like the font.
