There they are
the ghosts of friends departed
of love ones lost
and soldiers gone

I see them in the wall
in straight lines they stand
with comrades and friends

What do they see
do they see the wall
and remember those who lived
as I stand and see those who died

I hear their voices, curses and laughter
perhaps they hear the sobbing and silence
or maybe, they are just a memory?

It's good! I immediately thought of those commemorative walls that they have for soldiers who've fallen in battle. I imagine that this is what you are referring to.
