Sometimes (in the periods of depressions) I like really HARD EBM/electro like this one... It helps me survive and gives energy to continue... *yes, I'm highly music-dependent... it's like "my personal sort of heroine"...*

Yume, I know what you mean. I think I am mentally addicted to music, too. I always try and listen to some before work, otherwise it feels as if I wasn't properly "woken" up.

Music really can stimulate you and give you energy.

Some realxing positive electro from Watermät... Love this passage: "Everything about you SO REAL..."

The same thing with official video clip but without words

For me this video is like an excape from sad and boring reality to another world of ethernal summer, full of love, see and sun... Some kind of Astral projection of the Paradise with beautiful angels, who once have been asked, would come to you and take you with them (and nobody will see you anymore... Just your "photo" with them on the wall)...

Don't know how exactly called this genre of music - my friends call it like "soft rock" or "electro rock" - I'd like to post some my favorite bands of best electro pop-rock I've ever known...
Cut Copy surely the best soft electro music I ever listened. Here are my favorites: "Need you Now" (album 'Zonoscope") and "Feel The Love" (album "In Ghost Colours") - all songs are full of light and dreams as from outer world's dimension...

And here - two versions of all-famous Pixies' song "Where is my mind"...
Placebo's version I discovered many years ago and fell in love with it immediately (and sinserely find it much better than original)

Yoav version is my favorite for now as it was soundtrack to "Sucker Punch" - every time when I hear this song my soul tears apart... This movie some kind managed to break my heart so hard that made me cry not only at the end of film but even later - almost every time when I think about exceptional soul and awful destiny of main character Babydoll...

As it was perfectly said in one of comments: "Most people hear it as a being in a drugged out zoned out state but the more I listened I found it to be a guide to distracting yourself right before death. "With your feet in the air and your head on the ground" I read to be the very instant you land head first on the ground after a high fall. You should "try this trick and spin it" to distract yourself from the idea of death. "Your head will collapse but there's nothing in it" because you are miles away reliving a beautiful moment in your life, like swimming in the Caribbean"...

So... It's exactly what I feel when listen this song...

Some Russian rock - our best Russian-Israelite rock-band B-2 (in Russian - Би-2) - half-Russians, half Jews which all were born in Russia, then (in the begginning of 90s) immigrated in Israel and later returned again in Russia...
First video from Russian/American movie ''Brother-2" (in Russian "Брат-2"). I don't dare to recommend you to see this movie (even if I liked the idea of it in general), but it's really specific, too dark and violent, too charged by all negative emotions which filled the life in my country at the late 90s - beginning of 2000...(((
But song is magnificent and words are based on Gabriel García Márquez's novel ''El coronel no tiene quien le escriba" about old Colonel suffering on his retirement of loneliness, emptiness, poverty and meaningless of his present life...

Second one is allusion on Stanley Kubrick's famous movie "A Clockwork Orange", but with a lot more positive sense...

*sorry, didn't find version with english subs...*

One of the best (IMHO of course) French electro bands - M83 (just so short and simple name))) this song is my special favorite - when I want to cry, I listen this one... Don't know why this music constantly tears my soul apart...

They are making a Live Action movie of Ghost in the Shell. Though, I am a little disappointed that they are not using an Asian actress to portray Motoko Kusanagi. Not that I have anything against Scarlett Johansson, but it just goes to show that Hollywood will try to take obvious non-white roles (especially when dealing with Asian films) and turn them into all-white ones. Or cast roles based on racial stereotypes. It is a shame, really. This is not the first Asian movie that this has been done to when taken over by Hollywood. Kite (one of my favorite anime movies) had the roles cast by with non-Asian actors and actresses. Though, the movie was really well done and was fairly close to the anime itself. Regardless of the strange casting, I think Ghost in the Shell will be a good movie.

Thanks for comment, Nia - you really read my thoughts!!! Yes, I've recently heard about the plans to make a live action movie from GITS in Hollywood, and it disappointed me too, especially their casting for the role of Motoko... I have nothing against Scarlett Johansson (even if she was never in the top of my favorite actresses), but she is as far of being Motoko as it could be...((( I love Motoko's character so much (may be because of relating some her habits and points of view with mines and I find sometimes so much in commom between us), that I react so painfully on casting like this... Me too i'd like them to choose on her role Japanese actress, but it seems to me it could happen only in our dreams...
I've almost accepted that they constantly choose not the best types of actors/actresses for the roles of my fav' characters, but if they principally wanted Motoko to be caucasian type (to be honest on the 1st anime movie Ghost in the Shell and in all TV series she looks more european than asian), they could chose someone more charismatic than Johansson... Brothers Wachowski were inspired by the 1st movie of Ghost in the Shell and thanks to this anime they created Matrix. On the role of Thrinity they searched an actress who could look and act like Motoko, and in my opinion Carrie-Anne Moss was not simply perfect for this role but could also be excellent Motoko for live action of GITS...
I hope this movie will be better than Pacific Rim (which was a try of Hollywood to make a live action from the mix of anime Evangelion, Gandam and Ra-Xefon), but honestly I'm too sceptic at this point...

In the second movie of GITS - Innosence (some scenes from which I posted here) I especially like that in the opening theme ("making robot") this gynoid (where Motoko will download her mind later) looks Japanese, not european. And all the scenes of walk/parade on the city from both movies I'm crazy about all this asian esthetics - ancient emperors, dragons etc. - it looks so fantastic, so surrealistic and hypnotizing that can explain the world-wide love to Japanese/Asian culture.

And I'm so grateful and proud that directors of both seasons TV series of Ghost in the Shell (GITS Stand alone complex (SAC) and GITS SAC 2nd GIG) chose for the performance of opening themes our russian singer Origa (original name Olga Yakovleva) who lived and worked in Tokyo (so they didn't need to search top far). I like her manner of singing in russian with slight imitation of Japanese accent, and her opening songs "Inner Universe" and "Rise" for TV series of Ghost in the Shell is also my all-time favorites:
